What's Up in the Wellness Studio?

Ever wonder what’s up, like been going on upstairs at WILLOWTREE for the last few years? It’s been home to our Wellness Studio: a healing sanctuary where we offer a variety of health and wellness-related services in a beautiful and welcoming environment.

In this lovely space, highly experienced, accredited, and compassionate practitioners offer exceptional services including Holistic Nutrition Counseling, Wellness Massage, and Pilates. Their aim is to help you thrive and take a proactive role in your own growth and evolution, and they’re all really, really good at what they do.

Let’s take a deeper dive into each of our incredible practitioners and the services they provide.

Stephanie Dalton, Pilates Instructor and Certified Functional & Integrative Nutrition Coach

Stephanie is passionate about all things health and wellness and has been teaching Pilates, Barre, and other forms for more than 20 years.

A mom of two, she started her Pilates journey after the birth of her first son in 2003, completing her Stott Pilates teacher training with over 500 hours of training. She then opened Maya: Whole Health Studio, which incorporated Pilates, yoga, naturopathy, and massage.

Since entering midlife, like most women, Stephanie has experienced “the shift,” noticing her body was no longer responding to the same exercise. New research has shown that women in midlife and beyond need to focus on a new, nuanced approach to enduring wellness during this time.

Enter contemporary Pilates...

While Pilates benefits everybody at every age, in midlife body composition begins to shift, and we need to train our body in new ways. With declining muscle mass we must add “progressive load” using heavy weights. We also need to maximize our heart-rate zone to combat hormonal weight gain. That’s why a holistic training approach is essential!

Work with her one-on-one or in a duet session and get the results you seek!

In addition to being a highly-trained and experienced Pilates instructor, Stephanie is also a Certified Functional & Integrative Nutrition practitioner dedicated to helping women like you heal — from root causes. She focuses on using food as medicine, targeted supplementation and herbs, and lifestyle changes to start the healing process so you can come home to your body and live your best life. She loves to help women figure out how to make small changes that make a BIG impact. Her favorite quote is, “Small hinges swing big doors!”.

Her specialties include healing issues related to adrenal and thyroid, period, perimenopause/menopause, autoimmune disease, and chronic digestive disorders, but she also help you plan simple, healthy meals, make healthy habits stick, and discover mind-body routines that’s just right for you and your unique lifestyle.

Sophie Knapp, MScN, CN, CNS, Holistic Nutrition Counseling

As a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), Sophie is all about helping you get healthy in a way that aligns with your values while using evidence-based eating and lifestyle recommendations that address the root cause of your ailments. She helps people love the way they live and feel every day with individualized, holistic nutrition counseling.

After experiencing for herself how profound symptom relief can come from whole food nutrition and a mindful lifestyle, Sophie stepped into the role of nutrition counselor to help others discover the same.

Sophie is a Certified Nutrition Specialist, a Certified Nutritionist in Washington State, and holds a Master's degree in Holistic Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon where she gained a strong foundation in understanding anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, cell physiology, organ systems, and how the body adapts to stress.

Her graduate education was steeped in hands-on food as medicine kitchen experience, understanding our deep connections with food, the individuality of nutritional needs and applying this in a clinical setting, the importance of a holistic approach, and how nutritionists have the power to address and prevent chronic disease for individuals and communities.

Her education along with the CNS credential have rooted her practice in a devotion to lifelong learning and making clinical decisions based on valid scientific evidence. This means recommendations that are validated in the scientific literature and uncovering the root cause of symptoms and disease using high quality and in-depth laboratory testing.

A life lived at full vitality isn't just what Sophie teaches, it's what she embodies. When she's not celebrating the delicious flavors of healthy food in the kitchen, you can find her nature bathing, climbing a rock, surfing a wave, exploring a new artistic medium, or moving intentionally through a breath-driven yoga practice.
